I saw a post from someone talking about they were going to be a certain way for life. Then they used the saying, “God knows my heart” I guess as means to justify their lifestyle of living a lie. I was thinking to myself, yes God does know you’re heart but are you really aware of what God thinks about our heart?
This is what the Bible says:
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Also, another scripture that came to mind is:
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
So with this understanding of God’s perspective of our heart and way revealed through His Word, this leaves us with a problem.
But of course if one doesn’t seek God though His Word in which He is committed to, they would embrace anything drawing all kinds of false conclusions about what and who God is. You can’t just go with whatever feels right without getting understanding of God’s view on it. This is a trap because Satan dwells in confusion giving people excuses to continue in error.
When I hear people say, “God knows my heart” or “only God can judge me” those are signals of confusion that they really don’t know the God that they vaguely think they’re referring to. Most of the time people who say stuff like this actually are referring to a false god that they’ve created in their own imagination. If you were to ask them more questions about that God, watch them just start free styling and exposing themselves as not really knowing what they actually believe about God at all.
This is how you know if you or anybody else is walking in accordance with the God of the Bible.
1 John 2:3 – 5
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
We lean on God’s Word to rightly divide those things that are of our sinful nature and the things that are of the spirit.
Hebrews 4:12 – 13
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
The way you come to know God and his ways is through His Word.
The way you can have a relationship with Him is through belief that Jesus died for your sins and confessing him as Lord in your life.
Romans 10:9 – 10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
David also said something so key in this Psalm 52:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
This is what life is all about! Let God change your heart and desires and stop using “God knows my heart” as your license to stay in sin.
God hates sin! It separates us from Him. This is why He came into the world through Jesus Christ to sacrifice himself as the atonement for our sins so we can connect back with God through receiving Jesus into our heart.
I pray that this Word will take root in your heart.
May the Lord be with you,
