it all started for me when I was around the age of 11. I was playing violin at the time before I got into saxophone at 12. My dad bought a video camera that he would use to record special events like my birthdays and family reunions and stuff like that. In between those times, I would always get the camera in and record stuff of me messing around acting like I was somebody or I'd record me and the guys playing basketball in the backyard.
It's a trip reminiscing, because you realize that the same desires are still driving you even until this day 20 something years later. I just thought about at the age of 15 I recorded a tape of me performing songs with play alongs that I sold at school and amongst family and friends. Me and my mom made inserts and everything for it.
Now at 33, I've produced 5 CDs, manage a membership site for Jazz musicians where I post teaching videos, maintain Youtube channels for multiple brands, and have been able to make a living through my efforts. Back in 94 when the internet first came out, I remember spending long hours surfing the net and chatting with people worldwide. My mom was a school teacher along with my dad, who had retired at the time. So, it was just inevitable for me to be a teacher as well. It's just amazing how things transpire.
