Wow, we don't make the connection a lot of times between how we're feeling emotionally & spiritually and that affecting how and what we eat. Our response to stress and hardships in life can result to our bad eating. Especially for us Christians, we have a tendency to think we are kool not being addicted to drugs, alcohol, or the wrong entertainment, but addicted to sugars and/or junk foods that can be hurting us mentally, physically, and even spiritually and not even realizing it.
Adam & Eve ate from the wrong tree and it affected and changed EVERYTHING! We have to realize that this is a daily battle for us all. The devil hides in the areas that you don't question. His aim is to steal, kill, and destroy by any means necessary. John 10:10
We have to exercise discipline and balance in every area of our lives, not just the deep spiritual stuff but the natural and physical aspects as well. And a person can't juggle this responsibly without the Holy Spirit!
Let me explain it for you this way. We are God's creatures living in a sinful greed driven world where Satan manipulates and uses God's creation to conspire against itself.
Why does God allow this? Simple, it's free will!
We have a choice daily to who we decide to yield our bodies servant to.
God created us with a control center which is our HEAD, that has eyes, ears, and a brain inside to think, reason, and process things with. He also created us with a conscience that bares witness to the truth of which we have a choice to follow or ignore. If we choose to ignore our conscience and disobey God, He might not strike us down, but instead, He'll let us have our way and we'll just reap the consequences of our choices and actions.
So in terms of bad eating habits and lack of exercise, one might have or be creeping up on heart disease, cancer, and/or diabetes. But I believe this can ALWAYS be reversed or healed but the individual has to WANT it. It's always a matter of a person's faith. But faith and obedience work in conjunction with one another.
Let's be responsible with our temples and allow God to heal us
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
3 Jo 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
May the Lord be with you,
