What you see is not always what it appears. You just can’t duplicate what you see others do and assume things without getting some understanding first. People are always quick to run with stuff they see others doing that they think is kool but you never know what inspired that person to do what they do. There are some people who do seek God first who are aiming to make sure the stuff that they do lines up with the Word and that is a process.
The more you seek God, the more he will renew your mind and you'll conform more to the image of Christ and not the image of the beast! There's only two options! The media has confused this truth and complicated things to where people don't understand that you are either for or against Christ! We have our cultural upbringing, ethnic background and customs that we may come from that has shaped our soul and style but the idea is to submit your will to do the Will of God and find your identity in Christ!
Following the wrong people and assuming they got it going on can be detrimental for you later when your life starts to fall apart because your not following what God wants YOU to do. Even our own opinions of ourselves need to be reformed. I know the idea of harmonizing our soulish ways with our God given identity and purpose can seem complicated and hard but it's really simple. We just seek God through prayer, studying the Word, and then simply walk in the truth that you receive.
Of course, it's much harder walking in truth that we haven't received in our own hearts. Everybody governs themselves by their own measure of faith. So take your measure of faith, feed it and expand on what YOU got and do what God created you to do the way HE's given it to YOU!
