Are You Afraid to Obey God?

You know it’s a shame when people are afraid to be obedient to God and they have more confidence in disobedience than being obedient.

We should be assured in knowing it’s kool to be obedient to God and have a fear of being disobedient.

What would a person have a fear of obeying God for? God created everything. He’s all powerful and all knowing. He knows our purpose and what we were designed for and has the power to complete that work in us. So what sense does it make for us not to trust in what He is prompting us to do in our spirit?

Are you afraid to obey God? The only reason why a person would be afraid of obeying God for is because they are afraid of what people think. That will only keep you miserable and in bondage to the spirit of fear. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7

People don’t have a heaven or hell to put you in. People aren’t our source. God is our source. God is our creator and His Word is our blueprint for how we are to govern our lives accordingly. Once you become a follower of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will begin to lead and teach you how to logically apply the Word of God in your own unique context.

Then you have to apply what you learn by doing what He said do.

People only have a small glemse of your destiny and call. God is the one that knows our heart and thoughts. Man only is capable of judging the outer appearance. So what logical sense does it make for a person NOT to want to follow the instructions of the one who designed you?

Regardless of the people you might have to dissopoint and relationships you might have to break. You still have to be obedient anyway.

Do you have more invested in your relationships and things of this world that you don’t want to risk losing that. Because you don’t trust and believe that God will provide?

How do you think that makes God look, when you’re supposed to be representing Him?

How do you think God feels about that? You think He can really use you?

We get so caught up into our own little clubs, fades, groups, and mindsets but have you actually really thought about how that really fits into what God really has been speaking to you in your heart?

This stuff that we get caught up into is temporary and our mindset can change about it so fast. But we must have courage to be obedient to what we’re hearing. You don’t have to be apologetic or afraid of that. We are not all at the same places anyway so you don’t need to be afraid of being honest. We have to be honest when we don’t know and we have to be honest when we know.

It just makes sense to obey what God is saying to you to do in your heart. Always make sure it harmonizes with the Word of God and then just do it.

A person should be afraid to disobey God because when you disobey God you are hurting yourself and stunting your growth anyway.

You Are More Than What You Think You Are

Homosexuals tend to work harder at stuff to get approval and acceptance because they are outcasts in society.  The spirit of homosexuality drives a person to hunger for the need for approval and validation for what they can do. The focus is then put more on the talent and ability of the person so people can overlook who they are and what they’re struggling with in their heart. But they are really screaming for someone to love them for who they are away from their skill sets.

Corporations and the world in general don’t have genuine love and care for people. It’s all about what the people can do for them. In this world we live, it’s more importance and value put on the agenda and not the people forwarding the agenda.  Corporations really could care less about people’s struggles personally. They just want you to meet their quota to keep the dollars rolling in, thanks to your talents that you offer the company. Of course they have to appear that they care about people’s well being but it’s only in efforts to keep the business running long term. It’s like prostitution, a pimp doesn’t care about the girl’s being abused and raped when she was a little girl. The pimp doesn’t care about why she actually feels she has to sale her body for sex, he just wants to manage her just enough so she can be able to continue to serve more customers so he can get paid.

This is how Satan is. He is the god of this world and he is always taking advantage of children when they’re young by various types of abuse so they can grow up with their life’s philosophy and world-view skewed by their pains and deficits. To the world this presents business opportunities to capitalize off of the pain and struggles of people. But there is no real solution to the problems offered.  The human condition is a mess because of our sinful nature. Satan thrives off of appealing to our carnal needs, while people’s spiritual needs are neglected. People are so confused mentally, emotionally, and are distracted by entertainment and various other cares of this life to where they never get to really understand things in the proper way from God’s perspective.

God cares about you and doesn’t want  you to fall victim to the agenda of this world. We are not totally defined by our talents and abilities. These are only by-products of what’s really driving us in our heart and soul. I’ll say it another way. The outward expressions of our soul always displays the symptoms of deeper issues of within a person’s heart.

Wow, so what do you do with that?

Check out what God to Jeremiah:

Jer 1:5 NKJV

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Jer 29:11 NKJV

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Jer 29:12 NKJV

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

Heb 4:12 NKJV

For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Heb 4:13 – NKJV

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

God knows who we are and what we were designed for. God didn’t design us to be used and abused by people and the world just to be driven to make some money.

No, it’s more to life then that. God is love and he cares for us far beyond what we can do and what we’re celebrated for externally. What we have to do is seek the Lord in all that we do so we can get more understanding of our true purpose. When you become a follower of Jesus Christ, you began to realize more and more that you’re in the world but not of the world.

The world is Satan’s kingdom and it’s doomed. It’s my responsibility as a follower of Jesus Christ to awaken those who are deceived by the agenda and god of this world.

I’m seeing more and more that the affairs of this world are ran by witchcraft, control, propaganda, vanity, and deceit. Just because you’ve been known for something for so long doesn’t necessarily mean that’s how God sees you. Press into God by establishing a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.

John 10:10 NKJV – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Mat 11:28 NLT – Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 NLT – Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Mat 11:30 NLT – For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

May the Lord be with you,

Being A Resource

I expound on a revelation that came to me from a Facebook post I made. Everything we do we get from somewhere. We are just resources. This reality shows up in the things we do in our careers and also spiritually. Our life’s example is a reflection of what we’ve learned and taken in from what we’ve seen others do.

Beware of The Saying “Love Your Self

I’ve always had an issue with the saying “love your self” because I thought about how can one actually love themselves? I’ve heard love God and love your neighbor as your self in the Bible, but haven’t run across love your self.

I’ve found deny yourself in the Bible but it seems when you say love your self, that implies embracing our sinful nature which is opposite of what God would want us to do.

Paul talked about men loving pleasures more than God in 2 Tim 3:4

Then Paul said those who made their belly their God were enemies of the cross of Christ.

Phl 3:19

Lucifer loved himself so that he was cast out of Heaven for it. Eze 28:17

Throughout history many kings & rulers were into themselves and loved the pleasures of this world having lavish castles, mansions, wives, concubines, servants and of course the praise of men.

This concept of “loving yourself” has proven to be destructive throughout history.

Now that I think about it being married, if I embrace this concept of loving myself, my wife would be gone.

I know I can’t stand people who are so drastically into themselves. It’s hard to be around them.

Check out what Jesus said in John 5:30

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Jesus was not into himself like that, even though he had EVERY right to be.

He had followers but his followers didn’t serve him!

He served them and washed their feet. John 13:12-17

Jesus was the epitome of Mark 12:30-31

‘And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

“And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Jesus served the people & suffered for our sakes so that we can GET IT. We owe Him our lives.

Rom 12:1

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

So whenever someone says love your self, I’d be VERY skeptical of their philosophy and would ask them where does the source of their point of view come from.

God is to be worshiped and loved and other people are to be put before our selves. This is humiliating to self but it does prove to be a better route to go ultimately in life.

A Fresh New Start of Him Over Me

I’m back at home after a great couple of weeks in DC. It was refreshing hanging with family & friends, playing and recording. I’ve gathered so much inspiration, pertaining to life, spiritual matters, music and business. The exciting thing about my life is, God created me with these desires and gave me free will, grace and mercy to figure out how and what I’m going to do to continue to move forward with these impressions of the heart.

It’s a new year and most times we get excited about things because of our emotions but can’t usually sustain the consistency throughout the year. Well, this year coming into 2011 I’ve got some key principles in place that I’m going to stay consistent with. I’ve narrowed my focus down pretty much already to focusing on being a great husband and providing for my wife, which entails me hearing from God and being obedient in carrying out what HE instructs. This might sound deep and it can be but the application is very practical.

1 Tim 5:8 says:

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Life can be hard but I believe a lot of times the hard part is self-induced. We either make problems because of our ignorance or we solve problems because of our ignorance. To be able to solve problems you have to put a mandate on yourself to study, ask, knock, seek, and find the answers you need to move forward. This can be applied in the natural and in the spirit. But it is a discipline and something that really requires consistent effort to get yourself in line with who you want to become. And you know the only true model you should use for that is Jesus. Yup, and if you do that, then you gotta first start working on denying your own selfishness. Jesus’ whole life was a living sacrifice to do the will of the Father who sent him. If this is a frightening reality for you to envision for yourself, to give up everything to follow Jesus, let me give you a heads up on the plight of “self” if you’re one who insists on resisting submitting your life to Christ:

Just take note of the following scriptures:

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Mat 16:25

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Rom 8:6

There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. Pro 19:21

There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Pro 14:12

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom 6:23

We have a sinful nature, so our initial wants and desires usually conflict with God’s wants and desires for our lives. So, in essence, we have to learn, be trained, and discipline ourselves in the things of God and learn to be not moved by our flesh, people, the world and/or popular beliefs. When all else fails, the Word of God will stand forever. So with that awareness I have to do what God wants me to do and then I can rest upon knowing that everything in my life will be taken care of.

Jesus said that when we are spiritually minded we’ll have life and peace and he also said that we’ll have life more abundantly too. We have to make it an obligation to abide in his word and his word abide in us as hearers AND doers of the Word of God.

I’m one who wants my fruit to remain and not be worthless later because of a choice to be selfish.

Hope this gets you going this year and serves as a pivot point in your life to put God first.

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. Pro 16:3

The Origin of Conspiracy

Satan’s biggest trick is to get people to believe that he doesn’t exist.  The Serpent is the originator of the Conspiracy. A Conspiracy is a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.  The action  of plotting or conspiring.

Satan had a conspiracy, which started within himself.

Ezekiel 28:15-17

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground…

This insight was spoken through Ezekiel the prophet who addressed this to the King of Tyre but it actually addresses the spirit in which that was operating within the king, Satan himself!

Also see (Isa 14:12-15, Rev 12:7-17)

The Bible is a great resource to the truth of what conspiracies are all about. Everybody needs to understand that evil started in the heart of the archangel Lucifer/Satan while in Heaven. Heaven of course exists in another dimension or realm that is not common to us as natural human beings but somewhere in between, when God created man in Genesis 1, Satan shows up in the form of a serpent in Genesis 3.

Adam & Eve had everything they could ever want and need from being in the Garden of Eden with God Himself but their was some conspiring going on that they were unaware of.

In Genesis 3 we find the encounter with the Serpent but before we deal with the actual encounter, I want to point your attention to some key things.

Remember above in passages in Ezekiel, it stated how:

They have filled the midst of thee with violence – cruelty, harm, destructive emotion exerted

Iniquity was found in thee – Iniquity – injustice, unrighteousness, wrong

I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God – Profane – defile, pollute, desecrate

Thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thou brightness – Corrupted Wisdom – spoiled, perverted, ruined wisdom

So now think about all of these things being in the heart of Satan in which he used to conspire against God & Mankind:

Cruelty, harm, destructive emotion, Injustice, unrighteousness, wrong, defilement, pollution, desecration, spoiled, ruined, perverted wisdom.

Satan used all of those things as the launching pad for his conspiracy to go forth in the earth.

Now we can look at Genesis 3:1-8

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Since Adam & Eve’s fall, the human race has been battling with the abundances of Satan’s heart by way of sin & disobedience. But Rev 12:11 lets us know that we can overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and the word of our testimony.

God is not about keeping secrets. He wants us to have the truth and for all secrets to be revealed. The Word of God has mysteries tucked within the pages of scriptures that are only unlocked through faith in Jesus Christ and the revelation that comes for the Holy Ghost.

Unlock these mysterious by opening your heart and letting Jesus, The Word of God reign in your Soul. Submit to Him and you’ll KNOW how to survive the Satanic Conspiracy.

1 Cor 10:13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is commontoman: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way toescape, that ye may be able to bear it.

James 1:12-15

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

So check the motives of your heart and make Jesus Lord in your life so you can bare good fruit for God’s Kingdom and expose Satan’s kingdom of darkness.

I personally wanna be free from deceitful conspiracies and I want others to be free too.

Prayer, A Thing of the Past???

We have been conditioned as believers in this day and age not to have a prayer life or deep intimacy with God. People are too busy and on the go so often, to where they hardly ever make time to seek God for direction in their life.

As followers of Jesus Christ, it’s an oxymoron to claim that you are, and not really have a prayer life. Jesus was always praying, fasting and consulting the Father through out his physical time here on earth. It was necessary for Jesus to have that type of intimacy with God the Father in order to finish the work he was sent here to do. So in essence, our life should be a reflection of Jesus’ life.

As you read the scriptures, do you see that reflection in the church today for the most part?

Of course, we don’t know what people do behind closed doors but we do see the results of things from what they do publically.

John 15:4 – 5
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Jesus really lays it out plain for us here in this passage in John 15. I haven’t made all of the right decisions throughout my life and have been a Christian most of my life. The struggle is with our own desires and lack of self-control. When I’ve not chosen to seek God and make time for Him, I’ve chosen to thrust myself into things that I’ve had to figure out how I’m going to get out of. Of course then I’ll come running back to Him, when it was Him I should of consulted in the first place.

We’ve got this thing backwards. Prayer is not telling God what you want and expect Him to give you everything you desire.
You ask God what He wants and be ready to do what He desires of you.

This is why Jesus said “if any man would come after me, he must first deny himself, pick up
his cross, and follow me.” Luke 9:23

How are you going to overcome challenges in this life and reach your expected end without a prayer life?
As a husband, how can I know what’s best for my wife and our marriage if I didn’t have a prayer life? I’d have to totally rely on myself. And I know and my wife knows that I’m a MESS without the Holy Ghost!

This is the very reason why people get divorced, selfishness and no relationship with God. Thank God that he doesn’t divorce us but if we keep pushing Him away, he’ll let us go and we’ll always reap the outcome of having done that.

I look at the end and remember my commitment from the start and then realize that I have to stay connected with Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith.

When we disconnect ourselves from God, it makes us powerless and confused. Satan is warring against us at too many angles for us not to stay connected to God through prayer and fasting. Our good intentions as Christians don’t contend with what’s actually happening to us as our prayer life dwindles away.

Make it a point today to deepen your prayer life and modal your prayers after how Jesus said we should.

Mathew 6:5 – 13
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.“And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

May the Lord be with you,

Adam & Eve, Knowledge, Free Will, and The Conscience

If you take the knowledge that you have acquired and then you turn around and use it to take advantage of people for your own selfish gain, that’s evil. This is exactly what the serpent, the devil did in the Garden of Eden to deceive Eve and get Adam to disobey God. I wrote an article called The Origin of Conspiracy, in which you can go back and read about this. But here, I want to pose a thought. If Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden with God and they had EVERYTHING they could ever need and want without having to suffer or die, why would they throw that all away by accepting the serpent’s offer? Think about that for a second.

The serpent poses 4 ideas in Gen 3:4-5:
1. You won’t die from disobeying God
2. Your eyes will be opened
3. You’ll be as gods
4. Having the knowledge of Good & Evil

Now, I will not go through and analyze each idea or concept that the serpent presented here right now, but I want to focus on the reaction.

These ideas obviously stimulated various intriguing thoughts for Eve. Gen 3:6
1. She saw that the tree was good for food
2. It was pleasant to the eyes
3. A tree to be desired to make one wise

Then of course she took the fruit and ate it and got her husband to eat it as well.
Now, the appropriate question you’d have is, why would God put a tree in the Garden with Adam and Eve, his creation, and say that they can’t eat fruit from this particular tree? This touches upon the idea of obedience and free will to choose right or wrong. God created us with Himself in mind and with His likeness. He didn’t create us as humans to be robots because we wouldn’t have any choice but to do and be what we were programmed to be.

There’s no relationship in that.

There’s no love in that.

There’s no character in that.

God has created us with a mind to think rationally and choose the right way to go based on what we decide. Even if we choose wrong, he allows us to make that choice and even suffer because of it. The other thing he created us with, is a conscience. Which means we have knowledge of right and wrong embedded within us and free will to choose which way we think we should go.

All of these factors were present with Adam and Eve when they chose to disobey God.

All of these factors are still present with us today as we are constantly tempted and enticed to do
things that aren’t beneficial for us. Most of the time when we choose to do things wrong, it’s either because of us not knowing better or we just want to do what we want to do regardless of it being wrong. I talked about this in this podcast I did for faithdefendersonline.com called, Making Decisions in Self vs The Spirit.

These ideas are the core of everybody earthly existence and eternal destination. I heard someone say that the distance between Heaven and Hell is 18 inches, between your head and your heart.
So I encourage you to check out

Making Decisions in Self vs The Spirit

Read, listen, and meditate on these ideas and pray to the Lord.
My prayer for you is that he guides you in thinking things through as he leads you to make better decisions in all facets of your life.

Characteristics of God’s Musician

Quamon talks about 1 Samual 16th Chapter where the prophet Samuel goes to anoint the new king as he visits Jesse.

David who was the youngest of Jesse’s sons, was a shepherd boy and musician who was the one originally not considered as the one who was to be anointed but God saw David as a man after God’s own heart. He was also identified by other qualities mentioned by Saul’s servant that gave him honor and respect amongst Saul who was the king at the time.

Quamon expounds on the idea that David was known more for his character away from his instrument, in addition to him being a skilled musicians. David had his priorities in order which brought him favor with God and man.

False Teachers & Today’s Accepted Deception

Quamon talks about the false doctrine of Islam, Law of Attraction, Tony Robbins, and how Paul of the Bible dealt with it.
