We gotta learn the difference between what God wants and what we want. Just because you’ve been doing something since you were a child doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what God wants you to do. We have to learn of God and His ways and rightly divide our worldly desires from God’s desires for us pertaining to building His Kingdom. It starts with the family though!
So many musicians are so high strung on being great and/or recognized on their instrument, that they miss focusing on just being good in the natural instinctive areas that God put in us to be as His instrument. We prioritize vain goals based on deficits we had as a child, which drives us to want to be accepted and/or respected by men. The irony is, nobody really cares! Nobody is thinking about you like that! Don’t get so lifted up in your own narcissism that you pressure yourself to be something you’re really not supposed to be.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
